As part of Free2Be Week, Hannah delivered a transformative session on neurodiversity, tailored to the needs of a forward-thinking organisation in the media and sports agency sector. This workshop was part of a broader series on critical diversity, equity, and inclusion topics, including race and disability, designed to create a more inclusive workplace culture. The session attracted a diverse group of 15 participants, including managers and non-managers, and offered them an engaging and affirming space to explore neurodiversity with fresh perspectives.

The session began with an accessible introduction to neurodiversity and neurodivergence, emphasising that these are natural variations in how people process the world rather than deficits. Hannah placed a particular focus on sensory differences, explaining how these can profoundly shape workplace interactions. By highlighting common challenges and strengths that neurodivergent individuals may experience, participants gained a deeper understanding of how to foster environments where everyone can thrive.

Hannah also explored how neurodivergence manifests uniquely in different individuals, with a focus on autism and ADHD. She addressed how societal myths and stereotypes often oversimplify or misrepresent these conditions, encouraging participants to move away from one-size-fits-all assumptions. This nuanced discussion helped participants understand that neurodivergence intersects with race, disability, and gender, often creating layered experiences that require thoughtful, individualised support.

In addition to providing education, the workshop was highly interactive and solution-focused. Participants discussed how sensory differences, communication styles, and workplace structures could be adjusted to create a more inclusive environment. By equipping attendees with practical strategies for improving workplace relationships, Hannah ensured the session’s lessons could be immediately applied to their day-to-day work.

This session was more than just a learning opportunity—it was a call to action. By helping participants better understand neurodiversity, Hannah empowered them to become advocates for change, dismantling barriers and fostering inclusion in their teams. For organizations looking to create meaningful progress in diversity and inclusion, Hannah’s workshops are an invaluable resource, blending deep expertise with an engaging, neuro-affirmative approach that resonates with all audiences.
