"It was a real game changer having Hannah deliver workshops on Autism and ADHD to prisoners in several of the prisons that St Giles Trust was based in. Hannah was able to engage and create good rapport with all our learners. Hannah facilitated the sessions with ease, demonstrating competency and ability to relate to all the learners and prison staff uniquely.
The workshop delivery was clear, simple, empowering and effective. Hannah was without any doubt, for many of the people in custody, the first psychologist that they did not fear. The men and women were inspired by the sessions, finding many answers to some lifetime questions, The impact of her work was long lasting for all the learners and those close to them"

Summary
These sessions focused on understanding an overview of neurodiversity and were part of a broader series of topics staff could choose from (for Free2Be Week), including race and disability. Attended by a mix of managers and non-managers from the media and sports agency sector, the session had about 15 participants. It began with an introduction to neurodiversity and neurodivergence, emphasising sensory differences and how they may affect workplace interactions. The interaction workshop also addressed how neurodivergence (specifically in this case, autism and ADHD) can look different in all individuals, helping to dispel myths and misunderstandings, which is essential to improving workplace relationships.

Why are these talks and workshops important?
Facilitated workshops and bespoke talks on Neurodiversity are increasingly recognised as a vital component in creating inclusive and productive workplaces and communities. These talks and workshops not only enhance understanding of neurodivergent conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other cognitive differences but also help organisations create environments where all members can thrive. The importance of these facilitated programmes extends across various dimensions, from nurturing inclusive and informed workplace culture to enhancing outcomes for organisations.
Bespoke workshops and talks are a powerful tool for creating inclusive workplaces, organisations and daily environments that benefit employees, employers and all invested parties. By promoting understanding, enhancing productivity, supporting inclusive recruitment and encouraging retention, and meeting legal and ethical responsibilities, these sessions and engagement can sometimes be a crucial step towards building a more equitable and prosperous organisation. Embracing neurodiversity not only enriches workplace culture and social environments but also drives innovation and ensures that all people can contribute their unique strengths to the holistic success of the organisation.
